OOC: Again with my story! Hope y'all like it! ^_^
IC:
With a heavy sigh of relief, the trainer approached the now settled Pokeball and retrieved it from the craggy ledge’s open ground.
“Welcome to Tristan’s team!” he said to the motionless Pokeball.
As he finished speaking, the Pokeball glowed a bright blue, and vanished into nothingness. Tristan got a shocked look on his face, forgetting about what had just happened. After a few moments of silence, he remembered about the six Pokémon max rule.
“Why do they even have that rule? What if my life’s in danger? Oh well, mine as well swap in Psyduck!” he said with a sigh.
Reaching into his deep pocket, he retrieved the same computer-like device, and began punching in many different numbers, quietly speaking them to himself as he did so.
“Trainer ID, 207141, last name, Kodorea, first name, Tristan. Loading personalized settings…why is this thing so slow? Ah, here we go!” He said, removing a small pen-like object from his pocket and tapping it against the screen.
“Pokémon; Storage; password? Oh, right…umm…” he mumbled, pausing for a moment, before removing a paper from his back pocket.
“Oh yeah, forgot…” he said again, typing something in with his stylus.
In a feminine voice, the device began to talk to Tristan.
“Currently withdrawn Pokémon: Ampharos, Gengar, Starmie, Dodrio, Psyduck. Would you care to deposit a Pokémon?” the voice rang through the chilly air.
With a quick tap of a button, the voice continued speaking again.
“Please insert Psyduck’s Pokeball.” It said, in the same beautiful voice.
Tristan grabbed the Pokeball recently clipped back into place, and set it on a small indent in the device’s surface. With a flash of light and a high frequency beeping sound, the Pokeball vanished into thin air.
“Would you like to deposit or withdraw a Pokémon?” the voice spoke again.
“Ok, Meditite, come on out…” Tristan spoke to himself, while punching a few more numbers with his stylus.
“Transporting Pokémon ‘Meditite’. Please wait…” the computer said, its voice still echoing off the mountainside.
Soon, another loud beep and a new flash of light engulfed the area as a Pokeball materialized in the device.
“Transport Complete. Would you care to deposit a Pokémon?” she said again.
“No thanks,” he spoke, pushing more buttons, “He’s all I needed.”
After picking up the Pokeball, closing the device, and putting it into his pocket, he gave another deep sigh and plopped to the ground. After examining the Pokeball a bit more, he placed it on the ground as it sprang open. The familiar red energy soared forth and solidified into the newly caught Pokémon. Looking a bit fazed from the recent battle, and wobbled a bit and fell on its rear.
“Sorry about all that, you put up quite a fight!” Tristan said, withdrawing a small bottle from a new, somewhat hidden, pocket.
“This should help, here!” he said, spraying the contents on Meditite, its wounds beginning to heal quickly.
“Tite! Tite! Medi Meditite!” the Pokémon cheered as he began doing cartwheels and flips.
“Well, I guess you’re happy! My name’s Tristan and I guess now I’m your new friend!” he said, stretching out his hand for as to shake the Pokémon’s.
Meditite simply stared at his hand for a bit, and then happily shook it. The trainer found his grip unbelievably strong for such a diminutive creature, and quickly let go.
“Well, you’re pretty strong! Glad to know you’re on my team now! Oh! That reminds me! You need a name!” he called out, as the sound of nearby rocks tumbling down the mountain could be heard.
The Meditite looked at him for a bit, thinking of a name to be given to him. His head bobbled back and forth, his head a wee bit too big for its neck.
“Well, you’re a fighting Pokémon aren’t you? And a psychic one too. Well…some psychics are called ‘Psion’s’…how about I give that name to you?” he questioned.
The Meditite jumps up and down and clapped his hands with bliss at that. Nodding in agreement.
“Ok then! It’s decided! Your name will be Psion! Now I’ll let you mean my other Pokémon! First of is Am-…” he began to say, before noticing something horribly wrong.
Looking around the very small ledge, he could see no sign whatsoever of he beloved lamp friend. Panicked, he stood up and leaned over the ledge, but only to see nothing but a rising fog. Looking up the mountain, in case Amp climbed up, he could see nothing but falling fog. Fog that wasn’t there a few seconds ago. Panicking more, he began to call out for his friend.
“Amp! Where’d you go?! Amp!! Hello?!” he yelled into the mist above and below.
Psion looked up at his new master and began to call out as well, “Meditite! Meditite!”
The thick fog rising and falling towards him slowly began to merge, right near the ledge. All sight was hampered beyond about 2 feet, as the blue clouds billowed this way and that.
Suddenly, a violent rumble shook the mountain, and Tristan was thrown from the ledge. He began to fall, quickly, trying to figure out which way the mountain was. Reaching into a random direction, he slammed his hand onto a rock, grasping onto it for the sake of his life.
Dangling there, hopeless, he reached up and grabbed onto another rock, slowly climbing back up the mountain to the ledge, too tired to hang there much longer. He wondered what happened to Amp, and if Psion was ok. The, remembering Psion’s grace and athletics, knew he would be ok. But the fear of Amp in trouble racked his brain, and he soon forgot what he was doing. Reaching up to grab something, he found nothing there, but too lost in thought and fear, he let go of his current edge anyways, thinking he could pull himself up. He began to fall again, reaching out in several directions to grab a rock. He slammed his fingers onto the mountain, causing him to slowly stop. The thick, leather gloves he wore began to wear thin from that, and he knew they couldn’t take much more. Slowly climbing up the mountain again, he began to make sure he knew what he was doing.
After several minutes of climbing, or excruciatingly painful reaching out and pulling himself up, he reached a ledge. Not exactly sure if it was the same ledge as before, he began to call out for Psion and Amp.
“Amp! Psion! Are you there? Hello?” he called into the abyss, fear filling his mind once again.
Leaning against the mountain side to catch his breath, he could feel his eye lids taunting him. Slowly closing before whipping open again, attempting to force him into a deep slumber of energy restoring goodness. Attempting to mentally fight off the offer of sleep, he began hitting his head with his fist. He began to breathe heavily and his eyelids began to grow quite heavy.
His soul slowly gave into the sleepiness, and his began to enter a deep slumber. He slept for quite some time on the high, rocky ledge. Hours later, his eyes slowly blinked open, but just to find that he was not on the mountain’s ledge anymore. Glancing around, he saw that he was in a room. In a warm bed…

As Tristan sat confused in the cozy bed, the large, slightly opened oak door on the left side wall shook slightly. With a small creaking sound, the door was carefully pushed open. But no one was there. As Tristan stared confused at the open door, his bed began to shake violently. A small, strange sound could be heard next to him, like the sound of a small barking dog.
As Tristan leaned over the bed, he became as amazed as ever. Sitting at the bottom post of the bed stood a small silvery creature, bashing his head into the post with extreme force. His body glistened from the light on the ceiling, as if it were some sort of metal. His stubby arms and legs bashed into the ground as he lifted them up, one by one, and slammed them into the ground. His large, blue eyes narrowed as if he was angry at something. Tristan had never seen such a creature, and stared with amazement. As the creature slammed it’s forehead into the bedpost, Tristan could feel the shakes getting slightly greater. As the creature raised his head back one final time, and smashed it into the post, Tristan went flying off of the other side of the bed, as the post exploded into billions of pieces.
THUD! The bed fell un-even from the smashed leg. Tristan’s eyes widened as he thought of that animal’s power. Soon, he could hear tiny thumping noises, slowly moving towards him. As he sat up from the floor, he saw the creature walking around the bed up to him. With a slight nudge, though a quite hard one to Tristan, the creature began trying to push him towards the door.
Tristan slowly stood up as the metal-skinned animal pushed his feet towards the exit of the room. Tristan was led out of the room into a long, wooden hallway. The hallway was full of pictures of many people, all of which looked to be rock climbers, for their pictures were of them climbing a big mountain. At the end of the long hallway, Tristan was led into a large living room. Soft, overstuffed chairs littered the room, and many end tables covered with small trinkets stood here and there. A large, elaborate fireplace sat on the north wall, just in front of a large, grey chair, facing the fireplace. A warm blaze was burning in the fireplace, and Tristan could tell someone was sitting in the chair.
“Um…excuse me?” Tristan spoke out into the large room, his voice bouncing off a wall or two before being drowned out by the sound of the popping fire.
As he finished his sentence, a large man peeked around from the chair, a warm smile on his chubby face. He got up out of the chair and turned to face Tristan fully.
“Well, good to see that you’re awake and doing well. I apologize if my Aron caused you any trouble while you were asleep.” He chuckled, his deep, booming voice ricocheting off the walls multiple times, and drowning out on its own.
Tristan blinked a few times, and stared blankly at the man before speaking again.
“Um, where am I? Where are my Pokémon?” he asked, his voice becoming slightly worried. “Hm? Oh, I set them on the table here for you,” he said, picking up a tray of 5 Pokeballs. “They should be ok!”
Tristan counted them from a distance, “Um, have you seen one more?” he asked.
“Huh? No, this was all you had with you at the time,” he began to say, as his Pokémon butted in.
“Arrrron!” it called out in a high pitched voice.
“Oh, right. We found a Pokeball somewhere near you, it had a yellow Pokémon in it. I set it over in the kitchen, after I fed it. Is it yours?” he bellowed, in a jolly voice.
“Yeah! That has to be Amp! Where is the kitchen??” he called out, rushing over to the plump man.
“Follow me, I’ll lead you there, haha!” he laughed.
The large man began wobbling over towards a door, each floorboard creaking loudly as he did. Tristan followed behind him, the floorboards not creaking all that much for him. As they finally reached the large door, the plump man pushed it open with a loud creak to reveal a very grand room.
The floor was sparkling, cleaned spotless. The hardwood countertops boar no sign of filth whatsoever, and the dazzling array of dishes set on the beautifully hand carved table glistened divinely. The man walked up to the nearest counter, a Pokeball sitting on its amazingly clean surface.
“Well, here he is!” the man said, holding out the ball.
Tristan snatched it quickly and opened it up as the red energy spilled onto the floor. It formed up to about his height, and took the form of what had to be an Ampharos. As the Pokémon came fully into being, Tristan knew without a doubt he was reunited with his Pokémon. He leaped at it, wrapping his scrawny arms around it and holding it tightly. As he let go he looked at him and spoke.
“Where did you go?! I looked around and you had just…disappeared!” he shouted to him, so happy to see Amp again he couldn’t notice his volume.
Amp began acting out what had happened using charades, and Tristan soon knew what had happened. Amp explained that after the battle he felt quite fatigued and decided to hop into his Pokeball again. Fetching it from the ground, he raised it in front of his face and tapped it with his nose. However, Amp was much too close to the edge, and as the Pokeball to the ground, it easily fell over the ledge, to a jutting out rock far below.
“Oh, so that’s what happened…” Tristan said, feeling ashamed for not paying attention to his Pokémon. “I feel so stupid. You could have died!” he said to Amp.
Amp said nothing, but instead rapped its small arms around him and gave him a nice, cozy hug.

The atoms in the air were quickly sucked over to some strong force. Something was sucking them into itself, as their lifeless masses tapped against each other in chaos.
Tristan was yawning.
The large Ampharos gently loosened its forgiving grip of its smiling master, and stretched out its sleepy arms. The moonlight was beginning to drift lazily through the half opened curtains, those also cleaned to near perfection, as the same little Aron slowly crawled into the kitchen with them.
“Aron!” it cried out in its high voice.
“Hm? Oh, right! You still need some food yourself, don’t you little fella?” the man near them chuckled.
He began leisurely opening cabinets, and getting out dishes. He opened the large refrigerator dominating the far wall, and removed some sort of quite appetizing meat entrée. Carefully placing the completely luscious appearing food onto the sparkling plate, he began to hum a small tune. Tristan had helped himself to a nearby seat, and Amp had done the same. The two didn’t expect to be fed, but were instead either very sleepy or very confused.
The man brought over the dish of food, but rather than setting it down on the counter for them, as it appeared to be a human’s food not a Pokémon’s, he set it down onto the ground. The Aron called out happily and began devouring the food like a machine, almost inhaling the large chunks of beef and pork. The man took a seat next to Amp, the one directly across from Tristan, and they began a small conversation.
“So, what were you doing up there anyways? You couldn’t have been up there just for climbing, you’d have to be mad!” he exclaimed.
“Well, there’s really only one reason. To see if the stories are really true; to see if there really is a lake at the top of the mountain! Everybody says that at the top of that mountain there is a magical lake that blesses those who drink it and I want to know if that’s true!” Tristan explained.
The man chuckled loudly. “Well, I can assure you that there IS indeed a lake at the top of that mountain! Not a ‘magical’ lake, but a lake nonetheless.” He responded.
“It’s not magical? Hmm, I didn’t think so. I just wanted to see it with my own two eyes…hey, how do you know that there’s a lake up there? Have you been up there before or something?” Tristan inquired.
The man laughed again. “’Course I have! I don’t live down here for nothing! I’ve been up to that lake many times! But if you haven’t already noticed from my plump belly, I certainly don’t do it by climbing!” he answered. “You don’t?” Tristan asked back. “Well then…how do you get up there? Do you fly?”
The man nodded. “My Tropius and I often fly to the top of that mountain just for fun! It’s quite a sight I must tell you! But I’m afraid Tropius doesn’t exactly like strangers, so you won’t be gettin’ any rides from him.”
Tristan frowned at that, but soon a new question popped into his mind.
“Hey, how did you find me anyways?” he asked.
“Well, that fog was kinda getting’ in our way so we were gonna stop on that ledge for rest, when we saw a little Meditite jumpin’ up and down next to you. We landed and picked you up, and brought you right back down here! That little Pokémon sure loves you…” he responded, happily.
“Oh right!” Tristan almost shouted, remembering Psion. “Where is my Meditite?!” he yelled.
“Hahaha!” the man laughed again, “Don’t worry, he’s right outside!” the man said as he rose. “Follow me!”
Tristan followed him out of the kitchen, Amp following just behind him, and a now full Aron following slowly behind him. The reached a large glass door in the living room, and the man slid it open. As the stepped outside, the cool breeze drifted by like a sorrowful song on a summer night. The cool air gently nipped at the group as if flew past, causing strange sensations to shiver through their bodies. The group was led down a flight of stairs, which opened swiftly into an awe-inspiring yard.
The yard was colossal. Its grass stretched forever, and the entire trim was greeted by gorgeous gardens of blue-white flowers and tall sunflowers. Large lamp posts stood activating in perfect intervals, making the gargantuan field seem as if the light of day was beaming down upon it. Multiple Pokémon frolic in the field, enjoy the space given to them. Tristan could easily spot the large Tropius flapping is large leafy wings through the air. Next, he spotted his Meditite, leaping high into the air in attempts to catch onto the flying Tropius. Some other Pokémon also frolicked through the yard, some of which Tristan could barely name. A large and healthy Dugtrio spun around in circles, its path vanishing quickly after it as if nothing had dug through it before. He also spotted a Sunflora in the garden. It danced happily around the other normal sunflowers, singing out its name to them.
Sitting on a bench on the far side of the garden sat a creature Tristan had never seen before. At first he’d thought it was a person, but its bright yellow skin soon gave it away. A tuff of white fur surrounded its neck, as it sat with a small coin on a string. It swayed the coin back and forth ominously, staring blankly at the swinging object. Looking for too long caused Tristan to become dizzy, and all nearby objects became insubstantial. He staggered a bit, but the large man caught him. “You ok there, little buddy?” he asked.
“Yeah, but…what’s that?” Tristan replied, pointing at the creature.
“Hm? Oh that’s Hypno. He loves that coin; just try not to stare at him too long, because his psychokinetic powers exist through that coin. He loves to take advantage of it.” The man answered hastily.
Tristan quickly ceased staring and looked back to the others. One more Pokémon still remained unknown to him, so Tristan quickly removed his red computer and began scanning it in.
The familiar red beam sung forth into the yard, gently tapping onto the Pokémon. However, in it’s frolicking it failed to notice. The attractive female voice quickly began speaking to Tristan, explaining to him the creature he saw.
“Swalot; The poison bag Pokémon. Swalot has no teeth, so what it eats, it swallows whole, no matter what. Its cavernous mouth yawns widely. An automobile tire could easily fit inside this Pokémon’s mouth.”
The Pokémon was a blue color, with black diamonds circling its middle. The Pokémon looked like a very big blob, almost as tall as Tristan himself. From a distance Tristan guess it to be about six feet tall! Its mouth was currently closed, and it appeared to be nothing more than simply a normal mouth. It had no arms whatsoever, but instead had three ‘finger’ looking objects on each side. Two large yellow whiskers curved out from each side of his face, just below his beady red eyes.
“Whoa, I’ve never seen one of those before!” Tristan called out excitedly, pointing to the Swalot.
“You mean Devourer? Haha! He’s quite a Pokémon, although he does eat a lot. But when he does eat it is somewhat violent, because he has no jaw, and no teeth, so he simply inhales his food.” He chuckles.
Tristan was amazed. Doing that must take a lot of power, and simply eating the enemy would sure be an easy way to win a battle. Tristan’s thoughts were interrupted by the man, however.
“By the way, my name’s Jim! What’s yours?” the man exclaimed, reaching out a hand for a handshake.
“Huh? Oh, right. My name’s Tristan. Tristan Kodorea.” Tristan responded as he shook the man’s had, who had quite a grip.
“You’ve got a pretty strong Pokémon team, don’t you?” the man asked, grinning.
“Well, yeah I guess you could say that. Why?” Tristan answered.
“Well I must say tonight is the perfect night to have a battle, wouldn’t you agree?”
Tristan grinned as well at that.
“You’re on!” he said.
“Good, good! Head over to the other side, I’ll recall my Pokémon.”
Tristan began heading over towards the other side of the large yard, Amp close behind, and they now noticed the lawn was actually a battle arena! Chalk outlined trainer boxes and the mid-arena line. He smiled as he entered the far side of the arena’s trainer box.
Beams of read light shot out onto the arena as the many Pokémon were returned into their Pokeballs. Tristan drew out two of his own and called back Psion and Amp.
“Six Pokémon each!” Jim called out to Tristan.
“Deal!” Tristan called back.
Jim then pushed some sort of button an a nearby post, and two small blue flags rose up from the ground near him, one on each side, and two small green flags rose up near Jim.
“I’ll begin…” Jim called out, raising a Pokeball into the air. “Go on out, Tropius!” he yelled as he hurled a Pokeball into the arena. The ball popped open and a wave of red light flew out, forming into the Tropius from before.
It called into the night air, shaking nearby trees.
“Tropius, huh? That mean I should start with…” he began, unclipping a Pokeball. “Death Stalker!!” he yelled, hurling forth the Pokeball.
The ball released the same red light, this time forming into a strange ghost creature that floated several feet from the ground.
“Gennnngarrrr!!!” it yelled out, its voice strangely echoing for much longer than it should have.
Both trainers grinned largely, ready to shout out their first battle commands.

The air quickly became rigid; the slight breezes slowly intensifying to an eerie chill. The two trainers stared each other down on their opposite sides of the large, grassy arena. Their Pokémon also stared each other down, conspiring plots and strategies. Tristan called out the first command…
“Death Stalker, hypnosis! Put it right to sleep!” he yelled, a grin forming on his cold face.
Jim quickly replied. “Tropius, throw a Magical Leaf at him!”
Tristan’s brow furrowed in deep confusion. He’d never heard of a ‘Magical Leaf’ attack before. But then again, he’d never seen a Tropius in combat, so he wasn’t as surprised as most people would be.
Tristan’s Gengar, his ghostly reflexes lightning quick, reacted first. He cackled as supersonic waves of psychic energy drifted lazily through the air. The waves advanced ominously through the rigid cold, slicing through it keenly. Tropius’ first reaction was to blow them away, so he quickly began flapping his wings towards Death Stalker; however, the waves were virtually unaffected by the wind, being evoked from pure mental energy, and therefore were not be disrupted by earthly energies. They drifted into Tropius’ mind, sucking the energy from his body, and lulling him into a deep slumber.
Tristan smirked at this, as Jim quickly panicked.
“Bah!! Tropius, get up! This is no time to be asleep! Use Magical Leaf, ok?” he called, but in vain. Tropius slept on.
“Ok Death Stalker, good work. Now make a feast of his thoughts as you eat his dreams!” he cackled.
Death Stalker smirked with his trainer, and leisurely hovered towards the sleeping dinosaur. As it stopped near Tropius’ large head, he cackled loudly as auras of purple and black energies were conjured up around Death Stalker and Tropius. With more laughter of malice, Death Stalker quickly absorbed the soul of his enemy Tropius. Jim gritted his teeth and withdrew his Pokeball.
“Nice strategy, but I’m afraid your Gengar won’t do so well against…Dugtrio!” he shouted as he tossed another Pokeball into the field.
The Pokeball skipped on the ground a bit, and popped open in a flash of light. Red energy poured onto the ground, forming into Dugtrio, which called out its name repeatedly, in organized synchronism.
Tristan couldn’t help but burst into deep laughter. Jim had clearly forgotten Gengar’s ability to drift from the surface of the earth, rendering him immune to earthquakes. Jim continued with his ‘plan’ however.
“Ok, Dugtrio! Let’s get him with a nice, big…EARTHQUAKE!” he ordered, beginning to laugh in what he thought was victory.
Tristan simply grinned larger and gave Death Stalker his next plan.
“Death Stalker, fly into the air during the earthquake. While you’re up in the sky, launch a barrage of shadow balls!” he said, confident of an easy win.
Death Stalker did as he was told. In a blink of an eye he had flown high into the sky, and appeared to be a mere purple dot, easily mistaken as a star. Dugtrio continued with his plan however, thinking Jim had an idea. With a small popping noise, Dugtrio vanished beneath the ground, and rushed his decent far beneath the earth’s surface.
“Better hang on…” Jim warned Tristan, knowing now his large mistake.
The two grabbed onto nearby trees, as the shaking began. Slow at first, but steadily growing larger, causing some sunflowers’ stems to snap clean in two. The grassy arena was shaken like a small toy in the grasp of a toddler, swaying back in forth in an attempt to fling them off the globe. Tristan and Jim barely managed to keep a hold of the trees, but as the shaking stopped, they quickly let go and returned to the trainer boxes.
Death Stalker watched from above, his large red eyes carefully scanning for Dugtrio. He considered lowing down to a better view, before spotting the three-in-one mole Pokémon pop from the ground again. He smirked and raised his hands into the air. In each hand he surged ghostly power, forming a mighty ball of doom in each one. He pulled his tiny arms back and prepared to throw…but he vanished. His ghostly visage disappeared from existence altogether, in a cloud of quickly dissipating purple smoke. Tristan panicked instantaneously.
Before Tristan could react beyond the point of panic, Death Stalker poofed back into the material world in a new cloud of purple smoke; however, this time his stood right behind Dugtrio. He fired the shadow balls at point blank, and they quickly crashed into him. Dugtrio called out in pain, their three voices departing from perfect unison.
Death Stalker vanished again, only to soon appear right above Dugtrio, two new shadow balls ready and in throwing position. He dropped them on the Pokémon, causing it to scream out in even more torment. He repeated this many times, reappearing in a new spot with each teleport. Dugtrio was quickly caught by surprise each time, and hit in the perfect spot by the swirling vortexes of shadow. Soon, Dugtrio was in pain to simply breath, and Jim returned him in a somewhat saddened manner.
“That Gengar is pretty strong, and trying to use earthquake was a bad idea. But now…it’s time to use…Sunflora!!” he yelled out, chucking another Pokeball into the arena.
It unlocked like the others, the same divine light emptying onto the grass, only to this time become the sunflower Pokémon Sunflora. “Ok Sunflora, your turn now! Start off by gettin’ us a little sun! Sunny Day!!” Jim called to the frolicking flower.
“Gengar, fly up to Sunflora and lick her!” Tristan retaliated.
For the next ten seconds, Tristan saw something he’d never dreamed possible. Sunflora danced in circles and sang out her name, as the feeling of time and space falling off balance overtook the area. Time itself virtually wrinkled, causing space to scroll through the infinite index of life and matter, searching for the appropriate request. As the almighty deity of time and space located the correct answer, something amazing happened.
In a radiant explosion of divinity and heavenly light, the sky was beautifully crafted into a bright, hot day. The stars and blackened blanket of the night sky rippled away into nothingness, as the sky quickly summoned a blue hue. In a new explosion of awe-inspiring power, the large star that breathed life into the planets came into view; the large ball of gas known to mankind as ‘Sun’. The cool night air was quickly overcome by the raging and demanding heat from the sun, rushing to all un-protected areas of the nearby area. The garden was overrun, conquered by almighty temperature. Tristan and Death Stalker were utterly speechless.
Jim, too, was amazed by the sheer power of the attack, but quickly snapped back to the battle, having seen that many times.
“Ok Sunflora, it’s nice and hot now, so fire as many solar beams as you can!” he called out, feeling quite victorious now.
Sunflora smiled as large as ever, as her head began to glow as bright as the afternoon sun, she almost immediately fired off a large ray of the sun’s energy, careening towards the unsuspecting Gengar. The ray collided with Death Stalker, sending him reeling through the now afternoon sky. Before he could even recover, another beam of energy crashed into him, sending him flying far off into the sky. Tristan quickly returned him.
“H…how did she do that?” Tristan barely managed to utter.
“Sunny Day. It’s the most powerful attack I’ve seen in my life, being able to manipulate time itself. Sunflora’s quite the Pokémon!” Jim responded.
Tristan quickly noticed how blasted hot it was, and even quicker remembered Sunflora’s deadly weakness of the flame. He grinned as he plucked a Pokeball from his belt.

“Sunburst…” he said, casually tossing forth the ball. Magmar was summoned forth.
“Sunburst! Launch a fire blast at Sunflora!” Tristan called, determination and confidence filling his voice.
“Sunflora, try to solar beam it!” Jim ordered.
Sunburst acted first. With a deep, deep breath, he blasted out a large fireball, burning with fury and power. It sung towards Sunflora, and as it did, the sun continually fed it energy. By the time it exploded into Sunflora, it was at least twice as large as its departure size. Sunflora was easily crushed into defeat from the unimaginable force of the blast, as Jim recalled her to her Pokeball.
“Well, your team is surely a powerful one. But let’s just see how they fare against my Hypno!” he laughed, in the same, jolly laugh as before.
He unclipped a new Pokeball, and tossed it forth. It sprang open and released the almighty hypnosis Pokémon, Hypno!
“Sunburst, the sun is still heating up the arena, launch another fire blast!” Tristan ordered; sweat now trickling down his face from the sun’s sheer heat.
“Hypno, we can’t have that Magmar launching fire blasts at it can we? Disable it!” Jim said, a plan quickly formulating in his mind.
Sunburst inhaled again, embers formulating near his mouth. The air near him rippled with maddeningly scorching heat, as he exhaled with pure power. The same fireball ripped through the air, doubling in size yet again! It careened towards the Hypno swaying to and fro from the turbulence of the attack. Hypno eyed the fireball indefinitely and quickly leaped to the side, causing the ball of raging fire to soar past him, into the endless blue sky.
Hypno reeled around, facing Sunburst fully. Without a single noise he raised his small, silvery coin in front of his face, and began to gently swing it from side to side. Sunburst could feel the psychokinetic energies taking over his mind, and attempted to resist them. He staggered back and forth, trying to throw the mental invader from his mind; but to no avail. Hypno overtook Sunburst’s ability to shoot a flaming ball of rage from his mouth. However, due to Hypno’s inability to wield such an attack, he simply crushed it temporarily, rendering it useless for quite some time.
“Excellent work, Hypno. Now that he can’t use fire attacks anymore, he’ll be an easy target. But just to be cautious…use a future sight attack!” Jim calmly stated.
“Jim, I believe you’ve forgotten one important thing…Sunburst has many more fire attacks than that! Sunburst, use flamethrower!” Tristan cackled.
Sunburst was saddened at his loss of his favored ability, but obeyed nonetheless. Inhaling once again, but to a lesser degree, Sunburst released a flawless stream of flames from his duck-like beak. The flames lashed out much quicker this time, causing Hypno to feel the full smack of the attack. The fire licked at his skin, though through well trained self hypnotism, Hypno overcame the attack with a significant amount of damage ignored. Hypno smiled slightly, and raised his coin once again. Swinging it a basically un-noticeable pattern than last time, Hypno initiated his Future Sight attack. Sunburst got that idea that Hypno was going to do nothing, and stared at it with a confused look on his face.
“Sunburst, that attack will hit you a few seconds, so be ready! Use another flamethrower now!” Tristan cautioned and ordered.
“Good work, Hypno. Now try putting Magmar to sleep with your namesake attack…Hypnosis!” Jim called to Hypno.
Sunburst built up more energy than ever, and blasted out a jet of heat much, much more powerful than before. It ripped through the air like Tristan had never seen, and the sun only added to its power. As it rushed onwards, the outrageous heat of the sun caused the attack to explode into a nearly uncontrollable mass of fire, even larger than Sunburst’s fire blast attack. Hypno had no way of escape, and took the attack given to him, as he had no other choice. Hypno was blasted backwards like a bug, and smashed into the wall of the house behind Jim, who returned Hypno quickly.
“Two to five, huh? This is really quite a battle! I could use…nah, I’ll use Aron. Ok Aron, come on out!” Jim said, tossing forward another Pokeball.
Aron sat on the arena, staring up at Sunburst in fear. He knew he would never stand a chance, and didn’t really feel like trying. However, Aron quickly took a liking to Tristan and decided to show off a bit. He mustered up all his courage, and looked more ready to battle then ever!
“Sunburst, you’ve got complete type advantage here. Have you got fire blast back yet?” Tristan asked.
“Mar” Sunburst nodded.
“Ok then, use fire blast!” Tristan called out, pointing to the scrawny, yet powerful, Aron.
“Aron, you can take care of this with double-edge! Don’t worry, buddy!” Jim ordered to his tiny steel Pokémon.
Magmar launched forth the same fireball, rushing onwards towards the small Aron. Being ever so small, Aron had nowhere to run, and was easily flicked away from the hit. A one hit knock out.
Jim frowned and sent out his final Pokémon, Swalot, without a word.
Tristan looked at the large Pokémon in awe. Since he first saw it he knew he wanted one, no matter how hard it might be to obtain.
Tristan waited for Jim to call an attack, but when he didn’t, Tristan decided to start things off.
“Sunburst, this won’t be as easy as you think! Use confuse ray!!” he yelled.
Before Sunburst could even shoot the confuse ray, Swalot turned around and began rushing towards his trainer! Jim yelped out and ran the other direction, as if this wasn’t the first time this had happened. After much running, and even more chasing, Jim reeled around and returned Swalot.
Tristan was quite confused for a while, and said nothing. He returned Sunburst and approached the embarrassed trainer.
“Um…what just happened?” Tristan inquired of Jim.
“Hm? Oh, well…Devourer doesn’t really like me. I think he wants a new trainer…” Jim said as he frowned.
“Really? Well…if he’s troublesome to you maybe I could take him?” Tristan asked, a very large smile growing on his face.
Jim looked up at Tristan and smiled. “Well, I can ask him before you leave; he’s in a bad mood right now…”
Tristan nodded, as the two walked into the house. As they walked towards the house, Tristan said, still smiling, “Good battle!”
Jim nodded, “Sure was!” as they walked through the glass door.
They entered the cozy house, the fire now all burned out, as a large explosion could be heard right outside. Jim ignored it, but Tristan spun around to see what had made such a noise.
He was greeted by nothing but darkness. The boom was time and space un-wrinkling themselves to their natural state, seeing that the trainers were done using it.
Jim led Tristan back into the kitchen for some food. Tristan sat at the spotless table, still amazed at the unexplainable perfection of the room. Jim prepared two large, pre-cooked steaks for the two of them, and they enjoyed a nice, peaceful meal.
Hours later, Tristan decided it was best that he left. He knew it was the middle of the night, but he insisted on leaving, telling Jim he had been too much of a nuisance already.
Tristan was shown to the door, and led outside. The cold night air was a nice, refreshing slap in the face after the hot day in the battle. The house was nestled in the perfect area, with mountains surrounding him in all directions. It was the perfect picture, but Tristan didn’t mind much; he’d seen enough perfect stuff in the house!
Jim and Tristan said their goodbyes, and just before Tristan departed, Jim remembered about Swalot. He summoned him out, as Swalot was explained the situation.
“Devourer…me and you both know you don’t like me. And I know you want a new trainer, and after speaking with Tristan, I’ve decided you’d be much happier with him then with me. But you only have to go if you want to. So it’s up to you…do you want to be Tristan’s Pokémon?”
Just then, a Pokeball at Jim’s side sprang open, revealing the tiny Aron. It walked up next to Swalot and called out his name, nudging his side.
Jim looked down at Aron. “You want to go with Devourer, huh? You two have always been best friends…but it’s up to Devourer. If he wants to go…he can.”
Tristan waited for the large blue blob to respond, hoping from deep within his heart that Swalot would agree, and befriend Tristan. But he also had doubt…he knew that Swalot might not go with him. Tristan was so confused and excited he didn’t know what to think. He simply waited…will Swalot and Aron go with Tristan?
*Ok, you can grade it on whether he comes or not!*
